Q¡GIs there any possibility for longer service hours¡H
A :
1. Most libraries in National Universities in Taiwan open until 11 pm
2. The AC system in NCU library cools down during night so as to work regularly during daytime.
3. The authority encourages more regular sleeping hours of students thus determines that the library closes at 11PM.
4. The library shall serve as the resource center rather than study center; and with a view to economizing power, the library closes during night.

Q¡GHow to apply for "Library Card for Common Readers " and "Library Card for NCU Alumni"?
A¡G
1. Common readers over 20 years old may apply for the card by paying 2000 NT annual fee for the memebership and 3000
NT for cash deposit. Please keep the receipt for later return of the card and claim to the deposit.
2. "Library Card for NCU Alumni " is limited to NCU graduates (Bachelor degree and Master degree). Applicants are required to pay 300 NT membership fee and 3000 NT
cash deposit. Please keep the receipt for later return of the card and claim to the deposit.
Q¡GIs it OK if readers above come on holidays or at night to apply for the
library cards?
A : Readers may hand in application fees at the information counter. It shall take 7 days to process the application.
Q¡GIf I want
to claim for the cash deposit, what should I do?
A ¡GPlease fill in cash return forn and hand it in with your library
card and the cash deposit receipt. Please make sure that all books are returned and fines cleared. If you lost the receipt, you
shall fill in statement form (Signature and signet are required.). It shall take a month to process the acquisition.

Q¡GHow to enter the library if you're from outside the
university?
A¡GYou just have to register at the desk and give us your card in
change for library's entry card. You could use ID card, driving
license, health insurance IC card (must have photos on it), passport
or student ID card.
Q¡GIs there any possibility that the information we gave will leak
out to others?
A¡GPlease don't worry. Your data is safe with us. Those data will
only be used only when it's necessary. Usually we only kept the
record for 3 months before we destroy it. So please give us your
real data.
Q ¡GIs it OK to bring backpack or foods into the library¡H
A¡GReaders from outside the school have to put their foods,
beverages, backpack and bags at the front desk (it's on the left
side) and please remember to bring valuable stuff with you.
Q¡GIs there
any other place to put our backpack?
A¡GYou can also put your backpack at the information desk, but you
have to give another ID card to the staff.
Q¡G I lost my
library's entry card, what should i do?
A¡G You have to pay 100 NT dollar for the lost (and 50 NT dollar /
day if you're not returned the card at the same day). The library
will give you receipt and unfreeze the library's entry card
function.
Q¡GWhen NCU's students hace mid test or final test, under 18 is not
permitted to enter the library, is it possible to bend the rules?
A¡GWe're sorry to say this, but in order to preserve the quality of
reading and NCU student's right, the library has to forbid the under
18s to enter in the mid test and final test period.
Q : Are we able to enter NCU's library with the
Inter-library card, NTHU and NCTU student card
A¡GYes, after the staff check the card, you could get into the
library.
Q : Is there any rules for the student that we have to know?
A¡G
If you violate any of
these rules for two times or above, you'll be unable to
borrow books for 3 months. And for readers from outside the
school, you'll be forbidden to enter the library for 6
months. |

5¡GRules for swiping card¡G
(1)Everyone has to swipe card. You couldn't use other
people card to swipe in or only a person swiping card while
there are many people get in
(2)You shouldn't avoid the swipe, you have to enter the
library by the swing door.
6¡GIn order to preserved library's sanitary, It's prohibited
to smoke or to bring foods and drinks or pet into the
library. If you smoking in the library, you have leave the
library and if violate the rule once more you will have no
right to enter the library. |

Q: How to apply for private study room?
A¡GReaders could apply by filling the form that available at
information desk or download the form from the website. Any NCU's
full-time teachers, master degree visiting staffs and students, or
people with the purpose of special subject research and thesis
planning could apply for the room.
After filling the form and get the signature from the office of your
departmen, you could bring the library card with the application
form to the circulation desk to deal with some adiministration.
After that you should go to the information desk to get the key of
the room and the key should be returned when you're leaving the
library.
Every application of the private
study room is for 7days. The room couldn't be reserved and the
appliation can't be renewed. You couldn't apply for the same room
twice. |

If you're from outside the university, please bring your
borrowing books card to the circulation desk to borrow the wireless
internet card. If you're a NCU's staff, please enter your sparc's ID

Q¡GWhere is the location of the NCU study center? Are all people are
permitted to enter? What time does it open?
A¡G
1¡GNCU study center is located in the second floor of the eastside
of the zhong zheng library, just behind the current library.
2¡GBecause the table is limited, study center is only available for
the NCU's student.
3¡GFrom Monday to Sunday 8 am to 11 pm. On the summer holiday and
winter holiday, 8 am - 9 pm and on the mid test and final test, it's
open for 24 hours.
